  GLOBAL MARKET INSITE ACQUIRES HEUREKA RESEARCH TO ESTABLISH EUROPEAN HUB FOR INTERNET-BASED MARKET RESEARCH SERVICES

 
   
  Budapest, Hungary and Seattle, Washington, 4 febbraio 2000 At a press conference on Monday in Budapest, it was announced that Heureka Research of Hungary has agreed to be acquired by Global Market Insite (Gmi) of Seattle. The combined company will be the largest provider of Internet-based market research services in Central & Eastern Europe. The acquisition of Heureka builds on Gmė s capability to conduct Internet-based market research across any of 110 countries using patent-pending technology for multi-country survey research. The terms of the all-stock transaction calls for Heureka to receive 1% of the outstanding equity of Gmi in exchange for 100% of the equity of Heureka. Mr. Andras Vag, currently the President of Heureka will become Vice President of Gmė s Central & Eastern Europe division. Mr. Vag will also play a leading role in the company´s development of next-generation survey technology for the Internet. Mr. Vag will continue to be based in Budapest and will lead the company´s expansion across Central & Eastern Europe as well as the Commonwealth of the Independent States where Gmi already has the largest online panels through it´s multi-lingual Globaltestmarket. " Concurrent with the announcement of Gmė s acquisition of Heureka, it was announced that Gmi has agreed to establish a new global technical center to be housed in the Computer & Automation Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Science (locally known as the Mta Staki). As part of the exclusive agreement, the Academy will dedicate several Phd Mathematicians and Computer Scientists to the rapid development of next-generation technology for use with Gmė s online market research systems. Development work will be jointly managed by Mr. Vag (Vice President, C&ee) and Mr. Laszlo Kiraly, the Chariman of the Institute. Development work will initially focus on the completion and deployment of several web-based applications which are currently in development and which Gmi will use to offer its clients state-of-the-art solutions for web-based surveying of consumers as well as advanced graphical analysis. The new tools are fully multi-lingual and can be used with a conventional web browser to complete analyses such as 3D charting, correlation analysis, multi-variate regression, all using real-time data which can be accessed from anywhere in the world using a secure Internet connection. A demonstration of the next-generation online data analysis technology was also conducted at the press conference. Commenting on the establishment of the technical center, Mr. Monster added: "We are delighted to establish our global technical center here at the Hungarian Academy of Science. The Academy provides Gmi with access to a team of world-class scientists who have demonstrated an ability to develop advanced web-based interfaces under extremely aggressive timings.
