TELECOM ITALIA: ANTITRUST, ON COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR CONSIP AND ENEL, RESPECTED THE EXISTING RULES THE HYPOTHESIS OUTLINED BY FASTWEB IS GROUNDLESS, THERE HAS BEEN NO DISCRIMINATION IN FAVOUR OF TELECOM ITALIA’S COMMERCIAL DEPARTMENTS

Rome, 19 May 2010 - With reference to the investigation opened by the Agcm (Italy´s Antitrust Authority) on the competitive biddings for Consip and Enel, Telecom Italia believes that the hypothesis outlined by Fastweb - that is the basis of the proceedings initiated by Agcm - is completely groundless, and trusts that the outcomes of the proceeding will confirm the full legitimacy of its operations. In fact, Telecom Italia has never refused to provide information or services to competing operators, as foreseen by the existing offers made in full respect of the applicable regulations and under the supervision of Agcom; equally, there has been no discrimination in favour of Telecom Italia´s commercial departments.
