Throughout the two-day event, leading companies, including Corning Life Sciences, Millipore, Qiagen and Thermo Electron, will be presenting their very latest scientific developments and technologies. Many, including Dynal Biotech, Xiril and Jouan Robotics, will be launching new products, and Thermo will also be introducing its new corporate identity. In addition, associations such as Swissbiotech will be on hand to present the offerings from their members and countries. ´As an initiative of the Swiss government, one of Swissbiotech´s primary goals is to inform the international community of the strength of our biotechnology industry. The Uk is a key market for Swiss biotechnology companies, and International Biotech will provide the perfect forum for generating new partnerships and collaborations,´ said Nic Alexakis of Swissbiotech. ´We look forward to identifying new opportunities for cooperation between Swiss and Uk companies.´ Alongside the free exhibitions, the Lab Automation Europe conference entitled ´Concepts to Implementation´ will provide a platform that will teach, as well as report, on the fundamentals for the selection and usage of good laboratory automation from both academic to pharmaceutical industry viewpoints. Based on the recommendations of leading academic and industrial figures, presenters are drawn from the international community including Ian Yates from Astrazeneca in Sweden, who will be chairing the ´First Steps to Lab Automation´ session, and Freek Varossieau from Scientific Software International Bv.
