INTERSHOP AND NEXTRON TO PROVIDE E-COMMERCE SOLUTIONS TO U S WEST DEX CMP EBUSINESS EXPO-FALL 99, BOOTH 353

New York, New York, December 17, 1999 - Intershop, the world´s leading provider of sell-side electronic commerce software, and Nextron Communications today announced the integration of their Web site publishing and electronic commerce hosting applications to provide local Internet advertising provider U S West Dex with a single solution for hosted e-commerce sites. Nextron has been providing U S West Dex with high-volume Web site creation, and management software and services for almost two years. The partnership with Intershop allows Nextron to add best-of-breed electronic commerce functionality such as template-driven store design, advanced catalog management and back-office administration. Based on this offering, U S West Dex will develop and host the stores and charge a monthly fee to its customers. The product is in trial and scheduled to roll-out in first quarter of 2000. "Combining Nextron´s exceptional Web site development tools and Intershop´s top-notch e-commerce enablement capabilities with U S West Dex´s site development capabilities and strong local sales channel will allow us to deliver a best-in-class e-commerce solution to many thousands of customers, " said Jeff Tarr, vice president and general manager of the U S West Dex Internet Group. The joint solution is based on Nextron´s Integrated Creation & Administration System (Icas) and Intershop ePages. Icas consists of an industry leading administration application that lets licensees manage very large numbers of Web sites, and an easy-to-use site publishing application. Intershop ePages lets non- technical users set up and manage their own online store, including product management and order processing. "The integration of Intershop ePages with Nextron´s Icas results in a state-of-the-art hosting solution for the multi-billion dollar Internet Yellow Pages industry, " said Ed Callan, vice president of marketing at Intershop. "Now, customers of U S West Dex can quickly and easily add electronic commerce capabilities to their Web sites without incurring major investments for technical infrastructure.
