BANK OF AMERICA CHOOSES INPRISE/BORLAND APPLICATION SERVER FOR E-BUSINESS PLATFORM

Scotts Valley, California - 5 May 2000 Inprise/borland (Nasdaq: Inpr) announced that Bank of America´s Global Corporate Investment Bank (Gcib) has chosen the Inprise Application Server, the first application server to support the J2ee standard and combine the benefits of Ejb and Corba, as a key element in its ecommerce strategy. Inprise Application Server was chosen over seven other competing application servers after a three-month trial period. Inprise Application Server will enable Gcib to expand its presence on the Web and provides the company with the technology needed to support these and other enterprise-strength Internet business applications.
