Milano, 17 Gennaio 2003 - Fujitsu Siemens Computers ha annunciato che è andato a buon fine il primo collegamento Internet ad alta quota realizzato sul volo Lufthansa, con il quale la compagnia di bandiera tedesca collega Francoforte a Washington. Ieri, infatti, per la prima volta i passeggeri in viaggio hanno potuto utilizzare i 50 notebook Fujitsu Siemens Computers in dotazione all´aeromobile - tutti con connettività broadband Internet wireless - per navigare in Internet. Il testo della mail spedita recitava: "Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, I am very pleased to be able to send you this e-mail ´live´ whilst flying from Frankfurt to Washington Dc on the maiden flight of the Lufthansa Flynet project. This really is a landmark moment in mobile communications. As Lufthansa project partner Fujitsu Siemens Computers provides Flynet with 50 notebooks for the wireless broadband-internet on board of the Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Washington. For the initial three month trial of Flynet the airline will be loaning out 50 Lifebook S6010s with integrated Wireless Lan (Wlan) technology. Passengers can test the mobile office above the clouds for free. With this engagement Fujitsu Siemens Computers underlines its mobility strategy: products and solutions for mobile data access every time and everywhere. The leading European computer company is offering a complete mobility-portfolio, from Lifebook and Stylistic Tablet Pc to the Pda Pocket Loox and a range of mobility solutions like mobile access to Sap and other business critical applications. The offering is completed by wireless connectivity solutions like secure Wlan. Up to now Fujitsu Siemens Computers is already selling 25 percent of its Lifebooks with integrated wireless technology as Wlan or Bluetooth.my very ´highest´ regards Hans Rieger Sales Manager, Transportation Fujitsu Siemens Computers Gmbh". Per tutta la durata del progetto, denominato Flynet, in sperimentazione per tre mesi, i passeggeri avranno la possibilità di utilizzare gratuitamente le unità Lifebook S6010 messi a disposizione della compagnia aerea. Con questa iniziativa Fujitsu Siemens Computers intende sottolineare la propria strategia dedicata alla mobilità, che prevede prodotti e soluzioni per l´accesso mobile ai dati indipendentemente da luogo e momento. Il maggior produttore europeo di computer propone un portafoglio completo di sistemi mobili composto dai notebook Lifebook, dai Tablet Pc Stylistic, dal Pda Pocket Loox e da una gamma di soluzioni specializzate come quelle per l´accesso mobile a Sap e ad altre applicazioni business-critical. La proposta è completata da soluzioni per la connettività wireless come Secure Wlan.
