IBM HELPS BRING GOVERNMENTS WORLDWIDE TO THE DIGITAL AGE

Segrate, 22 gennaio 2003 - Ibm today announced that additional government entities, including Danish It provider Kmd and The National Library of The Netherlands, have adopted Ibm digital content management technology in an effort to increase productivity, streamline operations and gain a faster return on their information. Ibm´s content management technology is the only offering of its kind that enables customers to digitize, manage and access all forms of information no matter where it resides. As a result, customers worldwide are seeing an upswing in productivity and citizen satisfaction, by pushing less paper and more buttons. In the government industry alone, Ibm is powering hundreds of content management solutions, helping the public sector increase operational efficiencies, control costs, enhance productivity, and personalize and speed service by digitizing data across the enterprise. According to It industry analyst firms, support for e-government solutions is on the rise. Gartner Group estimates that It spending in the U.s. State and local government marketplace alone is expected to grow to exceed $56 billion by 2005. With announcement, Kmd, the major It provider to the Denmark government, and The National Library of The Netherlands have implemented Ibm digital content management solutions to better reach citizens and trim the growing amount of paper that bogs down operations. These customers join a growing roster of more than 200 government agencies worldwide including The North Carolina Utilities Commission, The New York State Tax Department, The New York State Lottery, and the California County Recorders, Assessors and Clerks Offices, among others that have turned to Ibm Content Management solutions to become nimbler, more efficient and less paper heavy.
