DISCOVER YOUR TRUE SPIRIT AT THE DISTIL TASTINGS

Distil organisers, Brintex, have announced details of Distil Tastings to be held at this inaugural Fair in May. Distil Tastings, hosted in partnership with Taste and Flavour, will spotlight a wide range of spirits categories and provide a real insight into the heritage, production and flavour profiles of a broad spectrum of spirits. Distil is the world’s first trade event dedicated to bringing together global spirits brands, buyers and influencers for three days of business. Distil will provide a trade platform for tasting, discussion, networking, education, research and debate. Visitors will be invited from the Uk and international bar, restaurant and catering trade, the Uk and international off trade and wholesale trade, the international tax-free market as well as the world’s leading importers and influencers. Exhibitors will be the major spirits brand producers and distributors, as well as many niche and boutique brands from across the world. Distil Tastings, open to all visitors of the Fair, will act as educational sessions concentrating on each individual spirit category, offering industry insight and specialist guidance as well as blind tastings. This independent approach will focus on the product behind the label, rather than being influenced by brand recognition. Taste and Flavour, a Uk based network of speakers, was established in 1999 as an independent source of informed entertainment and knowledge about spirits. Hosting the sessions will be a selection of some of the spirits industry’s most knowledgeable and influential figures, all members of the Taste and Flavour network of educators: Vodka - Ian Wisniewski Tequila – Tomas Estes White Rum/cachaça - Tony Hart Gin - Desmond Payne Absinthe - George Rowley Scotch - Dave Broom Dark Rum - Ian Burrell American Whisk(e)y – Mark Ridgwell Cognac - Nick Faith Armagnac - Mark Ridgwell Mark Ridgwell, founder of Taste and Flavour, commented on this partnership, “Those in the wine trade have long demonstrated the value of knowledge in their promotion of wines. Today´s back bar and retail shelf will often carry a greater range of spirits than the average wine list.
